Care Team
Sending someone into a private home can be scary and overwhelming to many. Any interested caregiver who inquires about how to get onto our list has to undergo an interview, extensive background check and provide three work references. Once cleared, we then require all aides to purchase liability insurance as well as become mandated trainers through the State of Connecticut.
Below you’ll find what it means, specifically, to work with a registry:
- We complete background checks, and drug tests, and check the references of all independent contractors, and the Director personally interviews all to ensure the correct placement is made.
- All aides are considered Independent Contractors. Once the aide is placed, the client is considered the employer and will be responsible for paying the aides directly.
- We charge an hourly business administration fee for every hour worked by our registry worker. This includes placement fees, 24/7 office support for the family, coordination of aides, making sure all aides are up to date on any licensures, family/client/medical team access to a portal that will show calendar, clock in/out times, shift notes, billing.
- The aides cover their own liability insurance that we require them to update and send us proof and manage the policy to ensure it does not lapse.
- 24/7 support
- While we cannot offer guaranteed coverage, in the event of a caregiver call out, we have a roster of 70+ aides to contact before speaking to the family directly.
- We provide a suggested rate of pay, based on the client’s needs. This is something that can be negotiated directly with your aide once placed.
- After-hours on-call support: when the client calls, they will not get a third-party answering service, but rather a direct call to an LCHAP office staff who will be familiar with the client/their specific situation.
